Thank you to everyone who signed our petition against the Government’s plans to close the train station ticket offices in High Peak, including in Buxton, Dinting, Hadfield, New Mills and Whaley Bridge and reduced opening hours in Glossop.
Ticket office closures will affect all passengers but the elderly and disabled passengers most of all.
Passengers and rail staff deserve better than this.
I’ve responded to the consultation to raise my concerns on behalf of the people of High Peak and written to the Transport Secretary urging the Government to rethink. 👇

I attended a really useful roundtable meeting in Buxton with local tourism and hospitality stakeholders organised by Visit Peak District and Derbyshire.
It was great to hear from local business owners and get their perspective on issues in the hospitality sector.
Improving the pace of planning decisions and the reliability of public transport along with strategies on attracting visitors and investment from further afield were amongst the areas we covered. Thanks to everyone that came.

High Peak - Derbyshire mate. Derbyshire. We all want to stay in Derbyshire whatever your spin even though you're clearly on a promise if you suck us into GM. Fascinated to learn what's in it for you. Truth will come out.
Clue is the title pal "Visit Peak District and Derbyshire"
Did you talk about the huge parking problems?
